Jason Moss and Tom the tale teller

March 7th, 2017

We had two visiting authors this week. Jason Moss read us an extract from his book ‘Smell and Bogey’ and the children thought he was hilarious.

After Tom the tale Teller’s visit we recreated one of his stories through art, poetry or writing

World Book Day 2017

March 7th, 2017

Here we all are looking amazing.

We had a great week. We visited the scholastic book fair.

We spent the week working on a book called ‘The Journey’. We could really use our imagination as the book had no words at all.

Here we are sketching the bird of paradise. We had a practice first as the wings were very tricky to draw.

Maths Mastery

This unit introduces the children to the concepts of multiplication and division. In the first part of the unit they calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division and write equations using the multiplication, division and equal to signs. We will begin to solve problems involving multiplication and division, using materials, arrays, repeated addition, mental methods, and multiplication and division facts. This unit provides pupils with the opportunity to explore multiplication and division and recognise that multiplication of two numbers can be done in any order while division of one number by another cannot. The connection between multiplication and division is also explored.

Roald Dahl

January 10th, 2017

We used the laptops to go on the official Roald Dahl website. We found facts about his life, such as his birth and death dates, his most popular books and his varied career.

Welcome to 2017

January 10th, 2017

It was lovely to see the children back after a two week break.

They all seem to have grown, lost even more teeth and matured.

We had a short but busy week in Year 2.

We have started our new topic ‘Amazing Authors’. We are focusing on the author,  Roald Dahl. On our ‘WOW’ day we made our own chocolate bars, designed golden tickets and watched Willy Wonka.

We had a lovely time at the Church this morning. We learnt all about the true meaning of Christmas and how it is a time to spend with family and friends.

Santa’s on Strike

Well done Year 2 for some amazing performances.

We have some budding actors and actresses and I was so pleased with our singing.

December 9th, 2016

We went out for a walk. We collected data by watching the cars going past at the top of the road. We made a tally chart and noted the different colours. We then returned to school and made a pictogram  using the data that we had

collected. Here we are having fun.

December 9th, 2016

We have started making our penguin Christmas decorations. First we practised our sewing by making a bookmark.
